Accessibility Statement

Everyone should be able to find the right stylist, read our policies and book an appointment, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This page explains what we aim for, how we checked it, what is outside our control and how to reach us if anything gets in your way.

Our goal

This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. WCAG is published by the World Wide Web Consortium, and Level AA is the level most organizations, including public agencies, are asked to meet.

How we tested it

The site was tested in October 2026 against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, on a desktop screen and on a phone screen. Every page we run was checked with:

  • automated testing with axe-core, with the event pop-up both open and closed;
  • a keyboard alone: every link, button and form field reachable in a sensible order, with a visible focus outline and nothing that traps the keyboard;
  • a review of what assistive technology such as screen readers is given: headings, landmarks, labels, button names and states, and reading order;
  • 200% zoom, and a screen narrowed to 320 pixels wide, with nothing cut off and no sideways scrolling;
  • extra line, letter, word and paragraph spacing (the WCAG text-spacing test), with no words lost or overlapping;
  • colour contrast measured for text, icons, form fields and focus outlines, including text over photographs.

What helps

  • Pause motion. The button at the very top of each page, and again in the footer, stops everything that moves: the scrolling words, the review and Instagram rails, the moving silk and the falling leaves, and the looping videos. This device remembers your choice.
  • If your phone or computer is set to reduce motion, the site turns its animation off by itself.
  • A “Skip to main content” link, clear headings and named page regions.
  • The before-and-after photos work with the arrow keys as well as by dragging, and have Previous and Next buttons.
  • The words that appear in our short films are written out under each film.
  • Links that open another website in a new tab say so to screen readers.

Known limitations

  • Online booking. Each of our independent artists books through her own page on Square or GlossGenius. Those booking pages are run by Square and GlossGenius, not by us, and we cannot change how accessible they are. If one gives you trouble, call the studio and we will book you by phone.
  • Maps and social media. The Google map and our Instagram, Facebook and TikTok pages are run by those companies. Our address, phone number and hours are written out in plain text on our homepage.
